Atlas The ICBM

A USAF documentary from 1957 about the early development of the Atlas rocket (at the time an ICBM). Justification for Atlas development is discussed in the Cold War context. Detailed early Atlas (Convair SM-65A, or Atlas A) flight test footage (including failures) is shown. The future usage of Atlas as a launch vehicle for space probes is also mentioned.
