A newsreel from the 1940s documenting the smallpox vaccination campaign, prompted by the rising number of cases in northern Peru and the disease's continued spread, threatening the capital. The Peruvian Red Cross and the Faculty of Medicine collaborated on this initiative. The public visited the mobile vaccination tents set up in various locations. Teams of nurses also visited factories, public and private offices, residences, and tenement houses. The newsreel also displays vaccination statistics from 1945 to 1948 during this successful campaign.
